The African Diaspora

The so called African Diaspora is a phrase that addresses the dispersion of Black people around the world. Curious that there is no European Diaspora! That is another story. People of African descent have spread around the world. Many involuntarily and more and more through migration, individual exploration and relocation. Of course not many of us have chosen to live in colder climates. Somehow the word implies a lack of connectedness or community. Today the worldwide web has enabled us to reconnect. Our goal here is to help establish that reconnection from a cultural and artistic perspective.

Here we will introduce you to artists of African descent from the world at large as well as the United States. Many will spotlight images of the Motherland. Many will tell different stories. All will contribute to the diversity of the our art. As our catch all category here we also discuss and give valuable information to our readers on trends in the art world, tips on collecting art, etc.
